PLAY TIME: Fairfield Ward at Whitehaven’s West Cumberland Hospital is able to buy some new toys for its playroom thanks to a donation from Peter Gaston. Peter has presented the ward with £250 he raised from pledges during his installation as Worshipful Master at the St John's Freemason Lodge, Workington. Senior staff nurse Marylin Graham accepted the cheque from Peter Gaston and his granddaughters, Freya and Beth, who have both been patients on the ward. With them are student nurse Sarah Denwood and staff nurse Ben Frampton.
