STEWART Richardson, managing director of W R Richardsons Builders, has informed The News that his firm was not responsible for water mains being turned off for parts of Whitehaven town centre last week.
United Utilities say they have been unable to identify who turned off the supplies or why. They attempted to restore supplies as quickly as possible.
