Anniversary boost for NCH

CHARLES and Sylvia Maudling of Whitehaven used the opportunity of their recent ruby wedding celebration to raise funds for charity. Guests at the 60s-style party, which featured Beatles tribute band The Blue Meanies, gave donations instead of gifts, amounting to £1,700. The sum was shared equally between two good causes: £850 to West Cumbria Hospice at Home, received by Bob Barnby and £850 to children’s charity NCH, accepted by Harry Hartley.
