Partying pupils take to red carpet and have a ball

PUPILS have said a stylish goodbye to the school year at Orgill’s glitzy end-of-term bash.
Youngsters donned their sparkling ballgowns and dapper suits to grace the red carpet at Tuesday’s swanky gathering.
After posing for pictures for the paparazzi (aka The Whitehaven News’ Mike McKenzie!), the youngsters, from the nursery right up to Year 6, made their way through the marquee and into the school hall where they enjoyed dancing and food.
The Friends of Orgill Committee introduced the Summer Ball last year and it was such a success that it has become an annual event.
Julie Irving, Orgill’s headteacher, said: “This is a fabulous event that the children love and look forward to for weeks.
“On Tuesday night, the hall was buzzing with excitement.
“I am so grateful to the Friends of Orgill who work incredibly hard all year.
“The Summer Ball was a great end to a great year for Orgill School.”
