POLICE officers found cannabis in a man’s sock when they searched him, a court has heard.
And when 25-year-old Lee Groggins was taken to the station, officers found two wraps of white paste – later revealed to be amphetamine – in his possession.
The defendant, of no fixed address, admitted two counts of possessing Class B drugs when he appeared at Whitehaven Magistrates Court last week.
He was given a fine of £140 and must also pay £60 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
Solicitor Neil Pilling, for Groggins, said: “It was a relatively small amount of drugs that were entirely for his own use.”
