Driving offences

A SEASCALE man has been fined £300 for two driving offences.

Michael John Drake, 51, of Coniston Avenue, admitted failing to stop after an accident on Gosforth Road and failing to report it to the police.

District Judge Gerald Chalk at West Cumbria Courthouse ordered Drake to pay £85 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Window broken

POLICE officers in Frizington are investigating an incident of criminal damage in the village.

A home on Main Street had a back window smashed between 8pm on Friday and 5pm on Sunday.

Car damaged

A MAN is his 20s is being sought by the police after he was seen to kick a parked car.

A Volkswagen Golf, parked on Wellington Street, had a wing mirror damaged at around 2.15am on Sunday.

The culprit was said to be wearing a light top and had brown spiked hair.

Failed to stop

A PARKED van was hit by another vehicle and the offending motorist failed to report the accident.

The incident happened on Market Street, Millom, between July 12 and 17.

No insurance

A MOTORIST has been hit with a fine after being caught driving without insurance.

Melanie Cobban, 39, of Round Close, Moresby Parks, pleaded guilty and was fined £240 plus £50 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Urinating

SPENDING a penny has cost a Whitehaven man a £133 fine.

Paul McGrath, 49, of West Strand, admitted the public nuisance offence (urinating in public) and must also pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Road crash

A MOTORIST is being sought after a fail-to-stop crash in Whitehaven.

A Honda was struck by a another vehicle while parked on Mid Street, Kells, between 6am and 5pm on June 22.

The driver of the offending vehicle – believed to be a blue car – failed to stop at the scene. Witnesses are asked to telephone 101.
