Revamp for two play areas

OVER £10,500 looks set to be spent on revamping two Whitehaven play areas.

Jericho Park at Hillcrest could receive new equipment for toddlers and younger children as well as a fence to help with security and isolate the area from a dog-walking route.

The cost will be £9,750 and it is hoped the work will be carried out by March next year.

Kells play area is also “looking a little tired’’ states a report to tomorrow’s Local Committee for Copeland, and will be repainted at a cost of nearly £1,000.

Cumbria county councillors are recommended to agree the grants.
