No insurance
DRIVING without insurance has landed a Whitehaven woman in court.
Dianne Pearson, 49, of Solway Road, admitted the offence at West Cumbria Courthouse last week. The defendant, who has a provisional licence, also admitted driving a car while unaccompanied and failing to display L plates.
The court heard the offences took place at the junction of Mirehouse Road and St Bees Road.
Magistrates ordered her to pay a £240 fine, with £50 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
Failing to comply
A MOTORCYCLIST has been fined £170 for failing to comply with double white lines.
The case against Reece Young, 20, of Willow Drive, Whitehaven, was heard at West Cumbria Courthouse last week. He admitted the offence which took place in Egremont.
Magistrates ordered him to pay £50 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
Two charges
A TEENAGE motorist has been fined £300 for two insurance related offences.
Magistrates at West Cumbria Courthouse heard that Ross O’Leary, 18, of Main Street, drove without insurance and failed to provide insurance documents to the police. Both cases were proved in his absence.
Magistrates ordered him to pay £50 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
Phone charge
DRIVING while using a mobile phone has landed a Frizington man in court.
Jonathan Nicholson, 32, of Main Street, admitted the offence last week.
Magistrates heard the offence took place on Leconfield Street in Cleator Moor.
Nicholson was fined £35, with £50 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
