Dog dirt fine
A MOOR Row man has been fined £150 after he was found guilty of failing to remove his dog faeces.
David Fearon, of Church Street, had denied the offence, which took place at Scalegill Road. However, magistrates at West Cumbria Courthouse found the case proven.
The defendant, who had been in charge of the dog, was also ordered to pay £150 costs with a £15 victim surcharge.
Driver banned
A WHITEHAVEN motorist has been banned from driving for 12 months.
Raymond Daniel Mattocks, 29, of Earls Road, admitted drink-driving and was also fined £250 with a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs by magistrates at West Cumbria Courthouse.
The court heard the defendant’s test reading was 44mcgms of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35.
Failed to leave
A WOMAN failed to leave Whitehaven’s Duke Street when asked to by police officers, a court has heard.
Janice Robertson, 34, of Wythburn Road, Whitehaven, has admitted failing to comply with the direction of a town centre banning order.
Magistrates at West Cumbria Courthouse imposed a 12-month conditional discharge on Robertson and ordered her to pay £85 costs.
Drugs fine
A WHITEHAVEN man has been fined £200 for possessing the Class B drug, amphetamine.
James Robert Brown, 39, of Duke Street, admitted the offence at West Cumbria Courthouse last week.
He also pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to custody.
Magistrates ordered him to pay £85 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
