Van damaged
POLICE officers are seeking the man responsible for punching and damaging a van in Whitehaven.
The man – said to be white, 6ft-tall, wearing a white T-shirt and dark trousers – struck a Peugeot van that was parked in Whitehaven’s Market Place at 3.25pm on Friday. He caused damage to the driver’s side panel.
A second man was accompanying him, who was said to be wearing a black T-shirt and dark trousers. The men left the scene in the direction of Barra Jacks pub.

Witness plea
A MAN was assaulted on the junction of North Road and Main Street, Egremont, just after 1am on Friday.
Police believe a group walking down Main Street at the time may have seen the events and have urged them to get in touch.
The man suffered minor injuries and did not need any medical attention.
Driver banned
A MIREHOUSE man has been banned from driving for 46 months.
Alan Todd, 41, of Ashness Close, admitted drink driving and was also fined £180 with £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge. Magistrates at West Cumbria Courthouse were told the defendant’s test reading was 71mcgms of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35.
Phone charge
AFTER admitting driving a vehicle while using a hand-held mobile, Lee Fletcher Bristoe, 36, of Fell View Avenue, Whitehaven, was fined £60 with £50 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
Magistrates also fined him £60 after he admitted using a vehicle with an expired driving licence.
