Driver banned
A GOSFORTH motorist admitted being more than twice the legal drink limit. Martin Thomas Cain, 47, was banned from driving for 40 months after his breath test read 84mcgms of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35.
Magistrates at West Cumbria Courthouse also fined him £300 with £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
Trespass charge
A MIREHOUSE woman admitting trespassing and theft at a Cleator Moor dwelling.
Alana Newton, 27, of Croasdale Avenue, was placed on a four-month curfew, from 7pm-7am, after taking money, cards, prescription medication and toiletries. Magistrates also ordered her to pay £85 costs.
Windscreen fine
A WHITEHAVEN woman used a car with an “extensively’’ smashed windscreen.
The case against Katherine Joely Messenger, 28, of Sneakyeat Grove, was proved in her absence by magistrates. She was fined £400 with £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
No taxi fare
A WHITEHAVEN woman admitted making off without paying for a £46 taxi fare.
Amy Louise Grant, 23, c/o Overend Cottages, Richmond, also admitted damaging a Seat Ibiza and was fined £35.
Magistrates ordered her to pay a total of £346 compensation, £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
Fuel tank drilled
A DRILL has been used to damage a van’s fuel tank, say police officers.
A Mercedes van was targeted while parked outside Lowca Community School overnight on July 289. The culprit drilled a hole in the diesel tank and allowed fuel to spill out on to the road.
Car attacked
A CAR was damaged while parked in a layby on the A595, close to Beckermet. It had its windscreen, roof and bonnet damaged.
Road accident
WITNESSES are being sought to a car accident in Whitehaven.
The collision involving a Ford Galaxy people-carrier and a BMW happened on Solway Road at 1.20am on Sunday.
Witnesses are asked to telephone 101.
