It’s Wednesday so it’s play day
COMPUTER games, toys and arts and crafts will be on offer throughout the summer holidays at Moresby Church Hall.
St Bridget’s Church begins its Wednesdays Are Playdays sessions next week (July 25) from 10am to 2pm.
On offer is a ‘stay and play’ session for children up to 11, and their parent or carer. Older children are also welcome if they are with younger siblings. There will also be a baby/toddler play area.
The cost is £1.50 per child including refreshments (babies under one, and adults, go free). The sessions run every week until August 29 (excluding August 15).
Super heroes toddle to victory
A SUPER-HERO themed sponsored walk has raised money for a Kells school and the children’s charity Barnado’s.
Youngsters from the nursery and reception classes at St Mary’s School walked for 20 minutes around the school grounds. Pupils in the nursery class then walked to the finishing line at Kells library, where they enjoyed a snack and a story time.
They raised £657 which was split between the school and Barnado’s. The school received £327 and the charity received £330.
The event was organised by the library service, which has also coordinated toddle woddles in Seaton and Workington. A total of £675 has been raised for Barnado’s through the three fundraising events.
Kids’ taste test
HOWGATE’S restaurant Table Table is searching for children to make up the Kids’ Breakfast Taster Panel.
To enter, youngsters can go on the website and put forward their ideas, then 30 will be chosen to go for a tasting session.
