Driver had dog on his knee
A MAN was caught driving with a cigarette in one hand and a small dog on his knee.
Charles Murphy admitted failing to be in proper control of a car when he appeared before West Cumbria Courthouse last week. The offence took place on Leconfield Street, Cleator Moor, on February 10.
The defendant, 61, of Greystone Place, Cleator Moor, had previously denied the offence but changed his plea to guilty. He was fined £60 plus a £15 victim surcharge.
Items damaged
A NINE-MONTH conditional discharge has been imposed on a Cleator Moor man.
Jonathon McKelvey, 18, of Heather Bank, appeared at West Cumbria Courthouse last week where he admitted damaging a number of items belonging to Caroline McKelvey.
He was ordered to pay £24 compensation.
Drugs fine
A MAN has been fined £110 for possessing the class B drug, mephedrone.
Thomas Currie, 26, of Cambridge Road, Whitehaven, admitted the offence at West Cumbria Courthouse last week.
