Jubilee fun day

FANCY dress, food and music are all on offer in Cleator Moor on Saturday.

Crossfield Community Hall hosts St John’s Jubilee Fun Day (2pm to 5pm) and admission is free.

Children’s fancy dress takes place (with judging at 2.30pm), in addition to a barbecue, strawberry tea, hoopla, tombola and other stalls. Music will be provided by Cleator Moor Brass.

Centre attack

A BOTTLE was thrown through the window of Crossfield Community Centre in Cleator Moor while a class was taking place inside.

Nobody was hurt in the incident which took place at 9.15pm on June 11, although £200 of damage was caused to the window.

The culprit is being sought by the police and witnesses are asked to telephone 101.

Speeding fine

AFTER travelling at 45mph in a 30mph zone, Nathan Daniel Edward Corrie, 21, of Main Street, St Bees, was fined £60 with £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge. The case was proved in his absence by magistrates at West Cumbria Courthouse.

Teen in court

A CLEATOR teenager has been fined £200.

Lewis Andrew Kendall, 18, of Riverside Grove, had three charges of using a vehicle without a working lamp proved in his absence at West Cumbria Courthouse. He was also fined £85 with £15 victim surcharge.

Curfew breach

BREACHING a curfew order has landed a man in court.

Daniel Thomas Meldrum, 24, of Lincoln Road, Hensingham, admitted the offence at West Cumbria Courthouse last week. Magistrates ordered him to pay £65 court costs and his curfew was also extended.
