Warning about fake £20 notes
FAKE £20 notes are being circulated across Whitehaven and Keswick, police have warned.
Officers in West Cumbria received a number of reports of the counterfeit money over the weekend, which had been used at a number of shops and businesses in the area.
Police believe the notes could also be used in other towns in the region.
Both businesses and members of the public are asked to be vigilant, and to always check their money.
Anyone who has been handed a fake £20 note is asked to call police on 101.
