Stole meat
AN Egremont man has been caught stealing meat from the town’s Co-op store.
Leslie Dixon, 40, of Central Avenue, pleaded guilty to stealing three legs of lamb and was given an eight-week curfew.
He must also pay £60 compensation to the shop plus £85 costs.
Drink-drive ban
A MOTORIST has been banned from the road after pleading guilty to drink-driving.
Steven Holmes, 27, of St Bridget’s Court, Calderbridge, provided a breath sample of 66 mcgms of alcohol per 100 mls; the limit is 35.
Appearing before West Cumbria Courthouse last week, Holmes was given a 17-month ban and must pay a £100 fine. Costs of £85 and a £15 victim surcharge were also imposed.
Bike suspects
TWO males who are suspected of trying to steal a motorbike are being sought by the police.
Officers say the duo was trying to steal the bike that was parked on Carter Lane, behind the flats on Roper Street, Whitehaven, around 2am on March 27.
Estate damage
TWO units on Leconfield Industrial Estate, Cleator Moor, have been broken into.
Nothing was stolen in the break-in that happened overnight on March 26/27, but property was damaged.
