Families’ photos go on show
AN exhibition of photographs taken by local families will be held in Egremont next week.
The pictures follow a month-long course, organised by Howgill Family Centre and run by local photographer Alan Cleaver.
James Bowden, a youth support worker for Howgill, said: “The exhibition is to showcase the workings of some of our parents and children who have used the photography course to bond.’’
The exhibition, which includes shots of Whitehaven Harbour, Muncaster and family portraits, will be held from February 20-27 at 50a, Main Street.
Car damaged by woman, 18
CAUSING hundreds of pounds of damage to a car has landed a Whitehaven woman in court.
Bethany Julia Percival, 18, of Meadow Road, admitted causing between £800 to £1,000 of damage to a car belonging to Alan Broatch.
The case was heard at West Cumbria Courthouse last week.
Percival has been given a two-year conditional discharge and must also pay £100 compensation to Mr Broatch.
Court costs of £85 have also been imposed.
Car flipped on to its roof
A MOTORIST escaped uninjured after the car he was driving flipped on to its roof.
The Renault Clio was the only car involved in the incident which happened on the A595 at Parton at 8pm on Saturday.
The man was taken to the West Cumberland Hospital as a precaution.
Witnesses are asked to telephone 101 with information.
