What’s on offer for youths
DISTINGTON residents can hear about what’s on offer for young people in the borough at a meeting next week.

The meeting will be taking place next Tuesday (February 15) at 7pm at Distington Community Centre.
During the evening, Young Cumbria will also be showing a DVD of their Peer Education Project to the Gambia last year which was part funded by the forum.
The group of students, who were awarded £250 from the forum towards their project, will be answering questions about the trip.

Parkside Hotel
WE have been asked to point out that a malicious hoax fire call regarding the Parkside Hotel was made from a telephone box down the road and not from the hotel itself.
This initial incorrect information had been given to The Whitehaven News by the fire service and we are happy to clarify matters.
