Green light for town skate park
A SKATE park is on track after being given the green light.
An extraordinary meeting of Millom Council was held to discuss whether the council would allow the half a million pound development to go ahead in Millom Park.
The use of the land was granted by councillors, as was the decision to fund the planning application for the project.
However, the proposal to accept the skate park and BMX track on to Millom Council’s assets and public liability insurance met with opposition.
Following a vote, the decision was passed with seven in favour and three opposed.
Pete Woodhead, of Millom Skate Park Group, said the development would be “huge” for Millom and the area.
