By Julie Morgan

Previously assistant head and a classroom teacher, Mr Shipton Smith has been at the school for 20 years. For the past 12 months, he has been Valley’s acting head.

He said: “I count myself as being very lucky in having worked in the Valley community for a number of years already. The level of support from our neighbours and families is invaluable.

“I am delighted now to be in a position to take the Valley Primary towards the success it deserves and a brighter more positive future.”
