Mokython fun raises funds for charity

A MOKYTHON is set to take place on Sunday in aid of CFM’s Cash for Kids.
Over 200 people from across the county, including Copeland, will be joining in the two-hour dance event in Carlisle. Organisers hope to raise £10,000 to benefit disabled and disadvantaged children in the county and South West Scotland.
Shameem Arnold, managing director at Moky Fit, is delighted to be involved with such a worthy cause.
She says: “We have so many enthusiastic customers all over Cumbria and the Borders and we thought a Mokython would be a great way to bring everyone together to help raise money for Cash for Kids. People are travelling from all over and it’s a real community event. We want to encourage new people as well to take up the challenge of this Mokython.
“Although it’s fun dance routines, the routines are designed to give a great workout so they’ll be lots of sweating going on – what better way of spending a Sunday afternoon than getting fit and raising money for charity at the same time?”
The event is taking place at Carlisle Youth Zone, on Victoria Place, from 2pm to 4pm and will feature two hours of Moky Fit dance routines to chart hits.
Among the enthusiastic moky dancers will be CFM DJ Pete Moss, who will be trying out the moves too.
To help raise awareness of the event, CFM and Moky Fit have produced a fun video which features Cash for Kids mascot Courage the Cat dancing to Maroon 5’s hit song Moves Like Jagger Moky routine. The promotional video has gone viral after being put on to You Tube. Employees from the Cumberland Building Society, Tesco, Burger King and Brantano, as well as CFM DJ Robbie Dee, are featured dancing to the track alongside the mascot.
Places are still available if you want to take part in the Mokython. To register go to www.cfmradio.com/mokython.
