Man charged with trying to rob Whitehaven shop

A MAN has appeared in court charged with attempting to rob a Whitehaven town centre shop.
Sean Morrin, 27, of Brakeside Gardens, is alleged to have committed the attempted robbery at Timpson Shoe Repair, on King Street, on Tuesday.
Mr Morrin is also charged with assaulting a police officer during the episode.
He did not enter any pleas when he appeared before West Cumbria Courthouse yesterday (Thursday). Both cases were sent to Carlisle Crown Court where his first appearance is on September 24.
