Man accused of sex offences

A WHITEHAVEN man stands accused of a string of sexual offences.
Christopher Neal Holmes, 46, of The Grange, Hillcrest, faces seven charges of rape at various dates up to June 2012.
He is also accused of four counts of indecently assaulting a girl under 14, which are said to have taken place before 2001; a count of gross indecency with a girl under 14 and one of gross indecency with a girl under 16.
Holmes entered no pleas when he appeared at West Cumbria Courthouse last Thursday. He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on July 16.
