Lakes College hopes to have the X-Factor

STUDENTS at Lakes College West Cumbria have been chosen to take part in a business-themed competition.
And if they win the Rising Stars competition then they could see X-Factor star Sophie Habibis perform at their college.
The students from the level two business administration course have been given £50 with one instruction – make it grow.
The competition has been organised by CFM Radio and aims to raise money for Cash for Kids.
Course tutor Louise Jenkin has been working with the students to help them develop their ideas. She said: “The students came up with some great ideas and the one they went with was a fundraising stall.
“They have invested their £50 in making different products to sell including decorative mugs, clocks made from old CDs, peg bags and cushions. They also sold cakes, had a chocolate fountain with fruit kebabs and a raffle.”
Chris Nattress, deputy principal, said: “The Cash for Kids stall has been very busy every time I have passed, they have some great hand-made products for sale and these fruit kebabs are delightful.
“They have been very innovative with their ideas and everybody in the college is rooting for them.”
