Homes & Gardens tickets on sale

TICKETS go on sale tomorrow (Friday) for the first Western Lakes Home and Garden Show in Whitehaven.

By Andrew Clarke

Experts in cookery, gardening and decor will give demonstrations, offer tips and meet fans in a total of 32 shows on May 16-17.

They include wine connoisseur Oz Clarke; Countryfile presenter James Wong; gardener and TV presenter Toby Buckland; Anna Ryder Richardson, of Changing Rooms fame; Gardener’s Question Time’s Eric Robson; and celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli.

Tickets are available from Richardson’s of Whitehaven, on Lowther Street, on 01946 65334 or louise@richardsonsoffice.net.

Space is available in St Nicholas’ Gardens for locals to get involved by hosting a trade stall for their small business or hobby. This space is free, but stallholders must have their own public liability insurance. Email anna@wwevents.net.

And green-fingered volunteers are being asked to help the town look its best and contribute to a spruce-up of St Nicholas’ Gardens ahead of the show. It comes in the wake of Copeland Council's reduced responsibilities in relation to green spaces in the borough.

Volunteers are needed to assist with planting up flower beds over two or three days, starting on May 12. To help, contact Nadia at nadia@richardsonoffice.net or 01946 65334.
