JIM Mackey – the man preparing to take over the West Cumberland Hospital and Cumberland Infirmary – was yesterday due to be questioned by councillors.
He is the chief executive of Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust which is undergoing a takeover of the North Cumbria University Hospitals Trust.
Cumbria’s Health Scrutiny Committee was due to hear about the planned acquisition of the hospitals at its meeting in Kendal, including hearing about any impact of potential changes on patient care and safety.
