Hospital caterers’ ‘no confidence’ vote

WEST Cumberland Hospital catering staff faced with serving up microwave meals to patients have issued a vote of no confidence in their boss.

Have your say

I absolutely agree it is outragous that once again we see trusts turning to the microwave meals. I have every support for the catering staff at West Cumberland Hospitals. No wonder Hospital food has a bad reputation

Having spent 2 weeks recovering from 10 days in Intensive Care the wonderfull food served up was delicious and nourishing. When in 'recovery' mealtimes were the highlight of the day a joy to eat. To turn them into microwave meals would be criminal, although I have no probs with food micro'd at home. Another case of staff reduction!!!

If ' in th eknow' is correct in what they are saying then heads should role. What a disgraceful way to treat staff

Would a public meeting be in order here?

when will the Trust Board and it's senior managers get the message that they have no credibility amongst the staff. How many votes of no confidence have there been now?

It is dispicable the way that this has been handled. The decison to move to thi smethod was taken many months ago as part of discussions around cost cutting and the new hospital porject. Mr Davidson and the project team have been aware of this decision re catering for over 18 months.
