17,000 offer NHS dental treatment

OVER 17,000 patients have been sent a letter offering them a chance to sign up to an NHS dentist.

It follows a successful £1.5million bid by NHS Cumbria earlier this year from the Department of Health to help those waiting to sign up to a dentist.

The extra funding has allowed more NHS dental places to be secured at existing practices across the county.

The letters have gone out to those people registered on NHS Cumbria’s dental database, to those waiting the longest first.

Anyone receiving a letter is reminded to make contact with a chosen practice within three weeks and to take their letter with them when attending their first appointment.
