A WHITEHAVEN teenager is completing a series of 20 silly challenges to raise money for her late sister’s charity.

Over this weekend, Hannah McKain, along with her friend, Dawn Crook, will be dressing as smurfs and organising a Macarena flash mob.

They are aiming to collect cash for Sarah’s Star Fund which raises money for congenital heart defect charities such as CHD-UK and CHUF.

The fund was set up in memory of Hannah’s sister, Sarah, who died last June. Tomorrow (Friday) would have been Sarah’s 20th birthday.

Hannah and Dawn, who have also completed challenges using a space hopper and playing Russian egg roulette, will be holding a flash mob at Whitehaven’s hub on Saturday at 1.30pm.

Sarah’s dad, David McKain, said: “We miss Sarah so much, life just isn’t the same without her. She was a very big part of our family life. If we felt down for any reason she would always cheer you up.

“Friday is Sarah’s 20th birthday. It should be a happy occasion but once again it will be another day filled with tears and sadness.

“Sarah had her own health problems, but would always help anyone that needed it. She would share her own experiences of her own operations with anyone going through similar operations and would tell them how she coped,

“Sarah was a beautiful loving caring daughter, sister, cousin, niece and friend. We are all very proud of what she achieved in such a short life.”

If you would like to donate there will be a bucket collection at the weekend challenges. To see all challenges go to www.ripsarahmckain@facebook.com.
