drive for funds: Jane Saxon accepts the money from Charles Maudling and players from the senior section of the club

Jane Saxon, fundraiser for Safety Net in the west of the county, accepted the cheque from organiser Charles Maudling. The cash will go towards helping West Cumbria families and children suffering emotional, sexual and physical abuse and help meet the costs providing a therapeutic service.

Cases from the west coast now constitute a quarter of all referrals received by the Safety Net organisation (established in Carlisle in 2004), and two-thirds of these are of children aged three to 16.

Jane was grateful to the golfers and for the level of funding support that was being received from the local area. She was using her home at Moresby Hall at the weekend as the venue for a flower festival being staged by Whitehaven Flower Club, also in aid of Safety Net.

To learn more about Safety Net or discuss fundraising call Jane on 01946 696317 or email info@moresbyhall.co.uk Alternatively ring 01228 515859.
