Glad tidings we bring...

SACKLOADS of gifts have been donated to the children’s ward at the West Cumberland Hospital.

PLAYMATES: Members of the Sellafield Contractors Charity Committee popped into children’s ward at West Cumberland Hospital to deliver Christmas cheer. Here Gary Savage from the committee recruits ward play specialist Kelly Agnew, second right, and patients Iliana Grears, centre, and Annabel Campbell to be in his group as he plays on the keyboard, one of the presents donated. The others in the picture are, from left, Sue Crone, Alan Bowes and Bev Lofthouse from the committee and healthcare assistant Nichola McGonagle.

Children who are spending the festive period on the ward – and those who have recently spent time there – enjoyed their Christmas party yesterday. And it was made extra special with the donation of toys, games and gifts courtesy of the Sellafield Contractors Charity Committee.

The committee holds two events annually, supported by all the contracting firms on site, and donates the proceeds to local good causes.
