Girl, 14, dies at hospital

AN inquest has been opened following the sudden death of a 14-year-old girl.
Heather Leigh Thackaberry, of Borrowdale Road, Mirehouse, died on Sunday at West Cumberland Hospital. She was identified by her father, Alex Thackaberry.
Deputy coroner Simon Ward has opened and adjourned the inquest to a date to be fixed.
Heather is the daughter of Alex and Sonya and sister of Megan, Imogen and Jessica. She is the granddaughter of Billy and Pat and Alex and Mary. She is also a niece, cousin and is a friend to many.
A requiem mass will be held at St Begh’s Church next Tuesday, followed by interment at Whitehaven Cemetery.
