A GROUP of young people and Shackles Off volunteers braved the cold on Easter Sunday to be baptised at Seascale beach.
Around 50 members of the community, family and friends joined the two teenagers and two volunteers who were making a public declaration of their Christian faith. The service on the beach was led by the Rev Philip Peacock.
The teenagers have been regularly attending X-treme, a church service run by the youth project, Shackles Off.
Mandy Taylor, project development officer at Shackles Off, said: “After much cheering and singing from those present we made our way to the warmth of the Methodist church hall to share hot drinks and delicious cake made by our friends at Pudding Lane.”
