Breaking news: Planners throw out controversial windfarm

A CONTROVERSIAL windfarm which drew more than 650 letters of protest has been turned down.

Have your say

Mr Knowles doesn't want the windfarm because he wants super pylons instead. The only reason the Councillors voted against this application is because they prefer nuclear and are making way for nuclear.
Objectors don't be fooled into thinking that the application was thrown out because your voice was heard. Welcome to Dystopia.

Having posted earlier and thinking on things I think the big question is when was Cumbria County Council going to tell us that our area would be covered with super pylons, I think this is more than 6 turbines and personally would make a bigger blight on the landscape and be around for a lot longer.

Ah, the wind of change. Common sense has prevailed regarding wind farms, at last. Let this be the beginning of reclaiming our beautiful countryside that so many people travel great distances to experience. Let the exploiters of our countryside move away because public opinion is changing with regard to these monstrosities.

Congratulations to all those opposed to the windfarm, councillors and common sense. We have an ongoing responsibility to protect the landscape from windfarms which are proposed to make a short term finiancial gain. Great news.

These wind 'farm' developers are little better than paracites despoiling our countryside. If this goes ahead the views from Whitehaven towards the Western Fells and Ennerdale will be ruined! This needs to be fought all the way - we cannot let this happen.

630 letters of protest must prove alot of people do not want these gigantic turbines 110 metres high destroying the lovely landscape they will be seen from miles away what about the people who will be living near them and to be bribed by £50,000 is discusting

Copeland is a dystopian society where your voice will go unheard. The Council appear to forget who pay their wages and believe they are answerable to no one because they have got away with it for so long because of their "safe seat" and arrogant attitude.
Your objections will not be heard.

As applicants can appeal to the Government to reverse local decisions we need to get it onside, as well as councils and others, if we are going to stop these wind turbines being built.

Are you disillusioned by rising electricity prices, over dependence on the "green" dream [especially uneconomical and inefficient wind farms] and the destruction of our countryside then please object to the Government at

http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/22958

or by GOOGLING "E-PETITION 22958" and following the link.

Please pass this message on to Councillors, friends, neighbours and anyone else you know to persuade them to sign up too. If you are really concerned about wind turbines please write a letter promoting this petition to your local Newsletter and to the Editors of your local newspapers.

A planning issue that is being determined on non-planning issues - thats not right.
It's either acceptable or it isn't irrespective of any bribes the developers will give the 'community'.
