Fined for no TV licence

A NUMBER of Copeland residents have been caught using a television without a licence.
The following were dealt with by magistrates sitting at West Cumbria Courthouse this week:
Lee Clements, 25, of Fell View Avenue, Whitehaven, was fined £50 plus £60 costs. Magistrates found the case proved in the defendant’s absence.
Amy Grant, 23, of Glenridding Walk, Whitehaven, was fined £50 plus £60 costs. Proved in absence.
Terry Grant, 29, of Beckgreen, Egremont, was fined £50 plus £60 costs. Proved in absence.
Samantha Green, 23, of Main Street, Parton, was fined £50 plus £60 costs. She pleaded guilty.
Sandra Hunter, 26, of The Rowans, Egremont, was fined £35 plus £60 costs. She pleaded guilty.
Emma Johnson, 34, of Cambridge Road, Whitehaven, was fined £150 plus £30 costs. Proved in absence.
Donna McKee, 27, of Valley View Road, Whitehaven, was fined £150 plus £60 costs. Proved in absence.
Lesley Newton, 38, of The Ferns, Egremont, was fined £150 plus £30 costs. Proved in absence.
Sally Nicholas, 51, of The Oval, Whitehaven, was fined £50 plus £60 costs. She pleaded guilty.
Mark Nixon, 49, of Basket Road, Whitehaven, was fined £100 plus £60 costs. Proved in absence.
Jillian Skelton, 40, of Robert Own Avenue, Cleator Moor, was fined £125 plus £60 costs. Proved in absence.
Julie Starling, 38, of Windermere Road, Whitehaven, was fined £60 plus £60 costs. Proved in absence.
Marie Thompson, 58, of Moresby Parks Road, Moresby Parks, was fined £100 plus £60 costs. Proved in absence.
Colin White, 39, of Fleswick Avenue, Whitehaven, was fined £100 plus £60 costs. He pleaded guilty.
All the defendants must also pay a £15 victim surcharge.
