Egremont man charged with attempted murder

AN Egremont man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder.
Norman Alan Pearson, 71, was arrested following an incident reported to the police just after 2.40pm on Thursday. It is alleged to have occurred at a property at Dent View, Egremont.
A woman, aged 61 from Egremont, was treated at home by paramedics and did not require hospital treatment.
The defendant was arrested on Thursday and was subsequently charged with attempted murder the following day. He appeared at West Cumbria Courthouse, Workington, on Saturday and was remanded in custody until January 28. The case has been sent to the crown court in Carlisle.
