West Lakes Academy opens its doors and its arms to county’s young talent
Published at 16:08, Wednesday, 10 September 2008
WEST Lakes Academy is building on the high standards of its predecessor schools, has high expectations, and demands the highest standards of behaviour, attendance, punctuality, dress and work from both students and staff.
We are committed to achieving high standards for all with a rich and diverse range of learning experiences that provide stretch and challenge tailored to students’ needs and styles.
We do not select by ability, aptitude or faith. We see education as a partnership with parents/carers who play a central role in supporting the learning and development of their children.
We provide high levels of support for our students and we give them a real voice in their learning as well as opportunities to participate in the running and development of the Academy.
The distinctive combination of the Academy’s specialisms in Science and Business Enterprise helps us prepare students for adult life in the rapidly changing world whilst offering a wide range of vocational and academic opportunities across the whole curriculum. And we offer a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities, including sports, music and art.
Our sponsors have high expectations and are deeply supportive.
We will be moving into a brand new building on the existing site in September 2011.
