Suite puts the world at their feet

A JUNIOR school is leading the way in computer technology after a classroom revamp.
Young computer whizzes at Black Combe Junior School in Millom are enjoying their new state-of-the-art computer suite. The 22 new wireless, touchscreen machines have been added to the school’s £25,000 exploratory technology classroom, which includes an interactive projector shipped in from America.
It projects images on to a purpose-built whiteboard table, made by HMP Haverigg prisoners, which allows children to interact with programmes, like Google Earth, in a new way.
The school’s headteacher, Helen Webber, said the classroom puts the school in a ‘unique’ position within Cumbria.
Other local schools, including Thwaites Primary School and Waberthwaite School, also use the technology room.
