IN the clear air of Teesdale, County Durham, with acres of space and first-rate facilities, Barnard Castle School provides the perfect environment for energetic young people who want to discover their capabilities.
Medium-sized at around 540 pupils in senior school and 200 in the Preparatory School we provide girls and boys, day and boarding, with security in a traditional house and tutor system, friendship in the classroom and extra-curricular activities, and challenge. Combining academic rigour and personal development, the School is one of the Top 5 for rugby in the country, places our musicians in York Minster and Durham Cathedral on a regular basis, invests massively in new Physics and ICT facilities, insists on separate sciences at GCSE and extends the school day to 5pm Monday to Friday to accommodate the wealth of interests that young people have beyond the regular curriculum.
It may be the school you have been looking for. Come and see! We have an open morning on Saturday, October 4th.
The school is easily accessible by air, road and rail. An extensive school bus network caters for day pupils. National and international boarders welcome.
