Do you have what it takes to be a lifeguard?

EGREMONT Swimming Pool is looking for the next David Hasselhoff as it recruits lifeguards.

Applicants don’t need a lifesaving qualification but do need a be strong swimmers.

Manager Kimberly Blakeway said: “We are looking for someone who can show lots of initiative, have strong leadership skills and be very reliable. Being a strong swimmer is essential and having an interest in sport.

“This is a great opportunity for students as the hours are evenings and weekends.”

On being a lifeguard, pool employee Joel Schwarzer said: “It’s good to know that if anything happens you have the training and expertise to be able to save someone’s life. People put their trust in you which is a great feeling and it’s also a great way to meet people as you’re constantly interacting with the public.”
