Stole whisky and sandwich
A SEASCALE man has been caught stealing from Tesco. Connor McEwan, 23, of The Crescent, admitted stealing whisky and a sandwich from the supermarket on March 19.
He committed the offence, the court heard, while on a community order for a previous offence of trespass.
This order was revoked and McEwan was re-sentenced to a one-year community order to include an alcohol treatment programme.
He must also pay £22.70 compensation to Tesco.
Disorderly plea
SIMON Atkinson, 32, of Meadow Road, Whitehaven, has admitted being drunk and disorderly in public and was fined £65 plus £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
Urinated in public
ANTHONY Brettle, 25, of Crescent Cottages, Seascale, has admitted urinating in public and must pay a £75 fine, £50 costs and a £15 surcharge.
Ban for driver
A MOTORIST has been banned from the road for repeat offending. Jordan Wells’ latest offence, to which he pleaded guilty, was driving without insurance. The 24-year-old of Calder Avenue, Whitehaven, was banned for six months and fined £400, plus £50 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
Stole cash
AN Egremont man must carry out unpaid work in the community after he stole cash. Simon Bell, 29, of Fell View Drive, admitted the theft and asked for a similar offence to be taken into account. He must complete 150 hours’ unpaid work and pay £175 compensation and £85 costs.
Drugs found
KEVIN Bennett, 34, has been caught with two types of drug.
The defendant, of Newlands Avenue, Whitehaven, admitted possessing ecstasy and mephadrone and was fined £165 plus £85 costs and a £15 surcharge.
Jewellery theft
A CURFEW order has been placed on a Frizington woman who was caught shoplifting from Asda. Melanie Clements, 41, of Moor Place, admitted stealing jewellery worth £109 and was made the subject of an eight-week curfew.
