County's youth funding boost
Published at 15:03, Wednesday, 05 September 2012
CUMBRIA Youth Alliance has been running courses for people who work with children or young people, thanks to funding from two sources – Copeland Community Fund and Awards for All.
The training courses, offered for free, have so far seen 107 people from 32 different organisations taking part and resulted in very positive feedback.
Four of the seven courses held so far have had external accreditation and help ensure staff and volunteers benefit from up to date training that improves standards and meets legal requirements. All participants were successful with a total of 58 participants having achieved a Level 2 qualification in either safeguarding, emergency first aid at work, rood hygiene or health and safety.
The new training calendar for 2013 will be released later in the year. To discuss training needs or to book on to any of the courses contact Kate@cya.org.uk or call 01900 822110.
