Council jobs shake-up to save £90,000

COPELAND Council is having a management shake-up to help save money.

Have your say

How very patronising Crisby.

I have to say this is a pretty unambitious move. Surely Copeland should be looking at sharing services and management overheads with neighbouring local authorities or even at County level.

Crisby..Not only do they sound high but they are high, ask the person who does a honest days hard work for a fifth of that absurd amount if it sounds high. You would never believe Copeland had a multi million pound budget, there are zero amenities in the area for anyone other than those who like Rugby.

I agree that these salaries sound high but the Council has a multi-million budget and employs hundreds of people. Perhaps Rich could enlighten us of his managerial experience so that we can tell how he knows the jobs are "not demanding or difficult"??

Why are these wages so high in the first place? They are not demanding or difficult jobs.

Well done the council.
Shall we see the council leader getting another increase in salary? If so, will it be another 34.9% rise?

Well done to the council for recognising an area that a saving could be made in.
No doubt this will go towards the council being rewarded with another award for saving money. With the magnitude of this saving, no doubt when the 10 councillors attend the awards ceremony in London next year, they will be able to stay for two nights as opposed to the rather stingey 1 night they stayed this year.
Ahhh, progress.
