Everyone is invited to the organisation’s first-ever Colour Run and family fun day at Muncaster Castle.

The event, on August 3, is not a competitive race and people can run, walk or even dance the distance.

Volunteers at colour stations will throw powder, made from natural corn starch, over the participants as they pass around the 1k and 5k courses.

Any money raised at the event will go to Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

Deb Muscat, the hospice’s head of marketing and income generation, said: “We can’t thank Muncaster staff enough for providing such a fantastic venue to host this event free of charge.

“The team have put in a tremendous amount of effort for our cause already in the hope that we can make this event a success.

“We are particularly delighted the Frost-Pennington family even agreed to test out our paint ahead of the event, they had no objections about getting involved and very messy!”

There is an entry fee of £15 per adult, £8 per child and over 65’s to take part in the run plus any additional sponsorship participants wish to raise. This also includes entry to the family fun day at Muncaster Castle, Grounds and World Owl Centre for the day.

Tickets are available from www.hospiceathomewestcumbria.org.uk or contact Muncaster Castle on 01229 717614.
