TOP PR guru Jane Hunt will visit Lakes College West Cumbria to offer tips and advice for local business owners on building the profile and reputation of their business.
Jane, voted 2012’s Best Freelance PR Practitioner in Britain in the CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations) Excellence Awards, started her PR career in Bracknell, Berkshire, with international freight forwarder MSAS.
She then spent five years in the energy industry, working for the South Western Electricity Board, British Gas SW and British Gas HQ, London.
At the latter, she handled all catering PR and the promotion of events such as Chef of the Year, as well as maximising British Gas’s sponsorship programme.
She moved back north to work for Swinton Insurance, before moving to an agency and launching Privilege Insurance. After a few years of creating award-winning campaigns for other agencies, she founded Catapult PR in 1998, making it NW PR Consultancy of the Year by 2000. To date, Catapult PR has won 22 prestigious awards for work in various sectors including tourism, food, motorcycling and financial services.
Jane has a CIM Diploma in Tourism and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
The lunch will take place on Thursday, October 11 at noon. It is the first of a series of five organised by the college to offer good value business insights from expert speakers. Each guest will also enjoy a four-course meal prepared for them by the highly talented students of Lakes College.
Commercial development officer, Liz Parkes, who has organised these events for the college, said: “The business lunches are a great opportunity for people to get together and learn more about different aspects of business whilst enjoying nice food.”
To book a place contact Liz Parkes on 01946 839300. The cost is £20 per person including lunch and VAT.
