Changes to waste collection
Published at 11:09, Thursday, 28 June 2012
COPELAND Borough Council this week confirmed that it will be making changes to waste collection rounds.
The council said that changes are planned for later this year, but that until this point, waste and recycling collections will continue to follow the current schedule for all households.
The council issued new recycling and refuse calendars in late 2011 which covered December 2011 and the first six months of 2012.
Residents’ current recycling and refuse calendars show the details of collections until the end of June. After this point, collections will continue in the same way on the same day as now.
In the meantime, and to ensure that residents can access service information, a replacement calendar can now be found on the council’s website. By entering a postcode, residents will be provided with all waste and recycling collection details.
Those who are unable to access a copy online can call 0845 054 8600 to request a copy is sent out.
Once the new arrangements have been finalised the council will issue all households with a new calendar which outlines all collection details.
