Celebrity chef Rosemary heading to festival

A NEW celebrity chef will be coming to this year’s Whitehaven Festival.

Rosemary Shrager, accomplished chef and well-known television star, will be joining festival favourite Jean Christophe Novelli at the June 21-23 event.

She is well known for many television shows, including being a haute cuisine teacher on the reality television programme Ladette to Lady, and as a judge on Soapstar Superchef.

Last year she also starred on the hit television show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and came sixth out of 12.

Rosemary used to work for Jean Christophe so they know each other well and are looking forward to starring at the 200-seat chefs’ theatre during the festival, along with former Coronation Street star Sean Wilson.

This year the chefs will be centred on the harbourside’s main hub rather than on the Sugar Tongue. The chef’s theatre, as with the Sugar Tongue activities, will be accessible by wristband.

Festival organiser Gerard Richardson said: “We asked Jean Christophe who he would like to work with at this year’s festival and he said Rosemary.

“She has been on several television programmes and her fame has really escalated since she has been on I’m A Celebrity. She’s a really nice lady and it will be a great addition to the chefs’ theatre.”

Rosemary has hosted her own cookery series Rosemary Shrager’s School for Cooks, where contestants competed for the opportunity to work in a Michelin star restaurant.

On Christmas Day last year she featured on Gordon’s Christmas Cookalong Live with Gordon Ramsay and last month she appeared on Let’s Dance for Comic Relief with Kim Woodburn.
