Cap'n Senny's pub to have licence reviewed again

One of west Cumbria's busiest pubs is to have its licence reviewed again – just two months after it was last up before councillors.

Have your say

It's the last pub on a night out for most people which is why there is the most trouble. It's the same in any other town.

It's the fault of the people causing the trouble not the pub. What happened to individual responsiblity!

Oh for gods sake here we go again!!!....Homer how dare you say that about my home town!!! some of us are educated and have seen the world and worked around the world too so don't stick your nose up at Whitehaven and stop been so bigoted!
If you're going to close down Senny's then you need to provide the younger generation (for example 18-40 years) somewhere where we can go for a drink unitl early hours at weekends....perhaps on a plot on the outskirts of town??
We have hardly anything left of Whitehaven as it is....it's all charity shops, supermarkets and takeaways! Senny's is causing trouble at the moment but could this also be due to the amount of underage people been let in??.... We are not all alcohol fuelled bullies!
Some of us would like to have a drink, dance and socialise until the early hours, as it is the only break we get from working 9-5 all week!

Whitehaven needs a bit of a 'facelift', it needs to attract people in and if tourists staying over have to put up with drunken rowdiness from Senny's then it needs to be adressed. It's time for Whitehaven to take a look at the 'first impression' that tourists get when they visit.

Have i got this right we are blaming the places that provide us with enjoyment and entertainment. I think its the people who need to take the blame they are the ones who drink too much, who are too loud and cause the fights and all the trouble its them that need to be shut up and locked up .

Its simple, whitehaven is full of maronic idiots who cant go out for a night out without a fight. Iv never in my life been to such a narrow minded town. Iv been to many many other towns in this country and europe and never found the attitude that exists in whitehaven, people want to grow up, shut it i say maybe when all the puds are shut in whitehaven people might start to realise that drinking so much that you have to start fighting is wrong. We got rid of the Park many years ago so let this be the start of many more closures

Whitehaven is trying to encourage visitors so why is this Pub Creating noise and disorder, next door to the most popular Hotel in the town.

Close it at 12 and get folk home.

Tut, on an average night you'll be lucky if there's 7 police cars out in West Cumbria never mind Whitehaven!

There will be a lot of huffing and puffing but I hope that unlike Hogs and Heffers in Workington the sub committee will not give in. The police have proved disorder so to go against them will be a waste of their time and the safety of the rest of the community.
