LOCAL musicians are to take to the streets of Whitehaven in support of the town’s under-threat Civic Hall.

Jolan and Gavin McKew will be performing live on King Street on Saturday afternoon (from 1pm) to raise awareness of the upcoming Save The Civic gig on March 29. And gig organisers, the Mighty Boof, plan a second town centre event next Saturday (March 23).

Tickets for Save The Civic, featuring Jon Windle, Chris Helme, Tom Hingley and the best on the local scene, cost £8 in advance in person from Threads, King Street, www.threads-clothing.com and from the Civic Hall or its website www.civichall.org.uk.

They will also be available on the door for £10. All proceeds go to the venue. Doors open 1.30pm.
