A COMPANY which works at Sellafield has helped local children’s charity Give Us a Break.
Cape Industrial Services Ltd has achieved over half a million man hours without a lost-time accident. “Each time we hit a milestone we give something to a local charity,” said Steve White.
Give Us A Break 2010 is a local group which is striving to get a respite centre in West Cumbria for children with disabilities and their families.
Dawn Raynor, of Moor Row; Rachael Davies, of Cleator Moor; and Gillian Linklater, of Thornhill, are all involved in the group.
They want to set up a centre which will allow families to have short breaks in order to cope with the stresses and strains.
Cape – which provides many services for businesses within Cumbria including Sellafield – presented the group with £500 worth of electrical equipment which will be used to promote and expand the charity.
